“UK trade deal with Somali Pirates post Brexit sounds risky but it might not be that bad” Peter, 27, from Newcastle
The Government’s new plan to partner with Somali pirates when we leave the EU has come under fire from various people but Peter from Newcastle still has some optimism.
“Sure it sounds risky and it’s not what I signed up for when I voted to leave. But what other choice do we have? Can’t exactly turn back now, can we? At least with the Somali pirates we might be able to learn something about how they get away with breaking international laws. Also, they can patrol our shores to stop other people coming here illegally. Win-win.”
It is understood that the UK would allow the pirates to use various ports around the country to repair their rafts and other floating vessels. This might finally create some much needed jobs for shipbuilding communities.
